A sprain is an injury that affects the ligaments, commonly affected areas is the Stifle (Cruciate Ligament) Hock & Tarsus (ankle) Toes Wrist (carpus). As with a strain the ligaments overstretch and can rupture or tear, leading to pain and the inability to use the affected limb.
